THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
Mia Cooper & Co began the same way many meaningful things do - with love for a dog who changed everything.
Where it all began...​ Mia Cooper & Co started after we lost our dog, Mia.​
Mia was more than a pet. She was family. The best part of our home. The kind of dog who somehow always knew exactly where she was needed most.
​
After she passed, we couldn't find a memorial that felt true to us, or worthy of her.​ We didn't want mass-produced keepsakes or something pulled off a shelf. We wanted something that felt like our girl.
​
So we made it ourselves.
​
That first piece was just for us. But friends and family started asking for their own.
Without realising it, Mia had inspired the beginning of what would become Mia Cooper & Co.​ She remains the heart behind every pet memorial we create.
Our family's rock. A regal old soul - even as a puppy.
An independent spirit who marched to the beat of his own drum. A lover of anything edible, and sometimes things that weren't.

As Mia Cooper & Co grew, Cooper's place in the brand grew with it - from our name to the spirit behind every design. Saying goodbye to him was one of the most tender and raw experiences our family has been through. It made even clearer to us what our pet memorials mean to the people who trust us with their pets' stories.

Cooper isn't just part of our name. He's part of our purpose.
And today... These days the studio runs with two doggos firmly in charge.

Henley supervises from the doorway. Harper (being the typical Kelpie he is) supervises from directly on top of whatever you're trying to do. Between them, no workday is ever quiet.
​
They're the reason we talk about the pets still beside us just as much as the ones we've lost. Grief and joy aren't opposites. Most of the time, they sit in the same room.

You'll spot them on our Instagram @miacooperandco and Facebook pretty regularly. They've never complained about the camera and they’re a reminder that while we honour the pets we’ve lost, we also celebrate the ones still by our side.
